Strand 2.3 Topics
Topic 1: Modeling and simulations (Climate change, forecasting natural events or demographic changes)
Topic 2: Data logging (Sensors, probes, real-time data collection)
Topic 3: Satellite communication (Remote sensing devices, satellite imagery, tagging)
Topic 4: Mapping, virtual globes (Geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), cell/mobile phone tracking, online journey planning, online maps.)
Topic 5: E-waste (Development, disposal and recycling of IT equipment, monitoring organizations such as the Basel Action Network.)
Topic 6: Resource depletion (Use of non-renewable resources for manufacturing components, electrical consumption of IT systems.)

Still don't understand? Here's a good example...
Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
Global Positioning Systems create many ITGS related issues, for example:
1. It creates an easier way to navigate from Point A to Point B.
Instead of having to use an actual map to figure out which roads you should take, you only have to enter the addresses of Point A and Point B.
2. Sometimes the GPS will mess up.
If you get lost because a GPS mess up, you will not be able to get to where you want to be on time.
